What are the most common activities?

In order to grow and build a successful career at The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes through time and motion studies, line balancing, and method optimization.
  • Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Design, modify, and optimize tools, fixtures, and assembly devices to enhance ergonomics, safety, and productivity.
  • Support New Product Introductions (NPI), ensuring smooth transitions from prototype to production.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and technical standards.
  • Monitor and analyze SMT line performance (FPY, scrap, downtime) and lead corrective/preventive actions.
  • Validate and optimize process parameters and reflow thermal profiles according to IPC standards.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to ensure process stability and compliance.
  • Participate in audits, equipment validations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train operational personnel on process best practices and new engineering implementations.

What do you need?

To be considered for this position, an individual must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree: Mechatronics, Electronics, Electromechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Five plus (5+) years of experience.
  • Proven experience in SMT processes (printer, pick & place, reflow, AOI, SPI).
  • Participation in continuous improvement projects, cost reduction initiatives, and new product launches (NPI).
  • Knowledge of line balancing, time and motion studies, ergonomics, and process documentation.
  • Experience in equipment validation, process development, and supporting quality audits (internal or customer).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • PMEA.

Preferred Requirements:

  • CAD Software.
  • Power BI.
  • Advanced Excel.
