Providing expertise on Enterprise Monitoring platform and related solutions. Review, design, support and develop internal tools for BMO business users, providing automation options with full self-service as the target goal. This includes interacting with internal business users to understand the user requirements, formulate a design and providing complete final solutions. Review the platform software compliance and End Of Life / End of Support report and execute remediation in a timely manner.  Understand the various monitoring solutions in the shop and also in the market, and have the full hands-on knowledge of the tools to demonstrate for internal business users to consume.

  • Maintain monitoring platforms and features (Dynatrace focused)

  • Willing to carry out 24/7 application production support (on rotation with other team members)

  • Collaborate with the application project team to set up solutions that match the requirements

  • Participate in the technical analysis, design, planning and development work

  • Analyze, design, generating and present weekly, monthly quarterly platform utilization and consumption reports based on KPI and ROI

  • Analyze, plan and follow up on multiple compliance report (patch, EOL, EOS) for on-prem and on-cloud components

  • Integrate and maintain monitoring applications between other eco-systems

  • Develop, test, and deploy solutions on the self-service platform

  • Create and maintain system operations process (SOP) documentation, including all integrations

  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules

  • Works independently on a range of complex tasks

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a Science-related field

  • Excellent knowledge in monitoring and APM (Dynatrace is preferred)

  • Interest in computing programming ex nodeJS, TypeScript, RESTful API

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent systems analysis skills with full development and application lifecycle model experience

  • Ability to assess problems and solve them with a strong sense of urgency

  • Ability to work with aggressive deadlines and to handle multiple responsibilities

  • Knowledge of network concepts

  • Good knowledge of JIRA, ServiceNOW CR and IR process, CMDB

  • Good knowledge of ServiceNOW event management

  • Good knowledge of PowerBI, Apptio

  • Nice to have the knowledge of pricing model of AWS OpenSearch, ElasticSearch (ELK), AWS CloudWatch logs and AWS CloudWatch metric

  • Knowledge of BMO Products would be an asset

  • AWS & Azure and certifications are preferred

Additional level of proficiency:

  • Experience in automation. Writing scripts in Python, workflows in Typescript, Jupiter Notebooks, etc.

  • Implement RESTful API services in any web framework

  • Understanding of API Authentication protocols

Salary:

$61,600.00 - $113,900.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
