We are looking for passionate recent or upcoming graduates to be part of our dynamic team, where your expertise will drive cutting-edge advancements in high-speed transitions and interconnect structures.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the design and development of complex interconnect structures, including PCBs, Packages and ASIC high-speed transitions for SerDes and RF links.
  • Interpret design requirements and build 2D/3D electromagnetic (EM) models for simulation and analysis.
  • Perform high-speed signal integrity simulations and validate results through hands-on measurements in the lab.
  • Design and characterize interconnect performance based on simulation results and link-level requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, and present results to other teams.
  • Receive mentorship from senior SI/PI experts and opportunities to develop advanced modeling and measurement skills.
  • Exposure to full-stack hardware development—from IC,  package to system-level performance verification

The Must Haves:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in SI simulation and analysis tools such as HFSS, SIwave, ADS, and MATLAB; familiarity with Cadence Allegro or similar EDA tools.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of PCB and package design principles, high-speed signaling, and transmission line theory.
  • Lab experience: Exposure to test instruments such as VNA, oscilloscope, BERT, and spectrum analyzer.
  • Soft skills: Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities; self-motivated and eager to learn.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in RF, Microwave, or high-speed circuit design
  • Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Pay Range:

Masters: $69,500 - $111,100

PhD: $83,900 - $134,100

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
