Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Structural Engineer / Principal Structural Engineer​. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. The role may be filled at either level, based upon candidate experience.

As part of the Sentinel AVE Loads & Environments team, your technical expertise and analytical prowess will play a vital role in shock and vibration environment prediction, as well as comprehensive testing and data evaluation. This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or relevant technical field;

  • Engineer Structural: 2 years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science; 2 Years with Masters

  • Principal Engineer Structural: 5 years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD

  • Knowledge and/or experience with structural dynamics analysis of spacecraft, aircraft, or missiles

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent disciplines (e.g. systems engineering, aerodynamics, stress analysis, design, test) in a highly integrated team environment

  • Experience in programming and use of MATLAB (or equivalent) for analysis and data manipulation

  • Experience running modal transient analysis in Nastran (or equivalent)

  • Experience with launch vehicle and/or spacecraft vibroacoustic analysis

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Structural Mechanics or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college/university

  • Experience working strategic or tactical missile programs

  • Experience in the planning and execution of vibration, acoustic, modal, and shock tests for aerospace flight hardware

  • Experience with Vibroacoustic tools and/or SEA tools such as Wave6 or VA One

  • Experience with time domain, frequency domain, and/or random vibration analysis

  • DoD Secret Clearance (or higher)

Primary Level Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
