Senior Workday Configuration Analyst

Group 1001 is seeking a collaborative, strategic-thinking and savvy Senior Workday Configuration Analyst to lead, execute and optimize Workday configuration activities across our Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence and Benefits modules. You’ll be a subject matter expert in each of these areas in our HR ecosystem and will deliver high-quality  solutions by understanding end-user needs and the touch-points between the modules, gathering and developing business requirements and supporting technical design. You’ll be responsible for system configuration and enhancements, testing, ongoing maintenance, reporting requirements and ensuring compliance. You will collaborate with HR, Payroll Operations, IT and external vendors to deliver accurate and efficient payroll processes and a seamless, easy-to-use employee experience.

 

How You'll Contribute:

  • Configure, support, and optimize Workday US Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking and Benefits modules.
  • Lead testing and deployment of configuration changes, post-implementation enhancements, and upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and user documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, including payroll integrations and data loads.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, and Benefits teams to ensure data accuracy, processing and compliance.
  • Monitor Workday releases and implement relevant new features, updates and best practices to enhance system capabilities.
  • Ensure all systems and tools work cohesively, aligned with both compliance requirements and user experience.
  • Lead end-to-end HR & Payroll projects, from discovery to deployment.
  • Drive configuration improvements, automation opportunities, and end-user experience enhancements.

 

What We're Looking For :

  • 3–5 years of proven, hands-on experience in the Workday ecosystem, configuring and implementing Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, and Benefits modules.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, IT, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to see interdependencies and assess complex configuration scenarios.
  • Proven ability to translate technical concepts into a business context, communicate effectively with stakeholders, build consensus and drive change.
  • Self-driven and capable of leading others or working autonomously to drive solutions, troubleshoot system issues, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Workday certification(s) in Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits, and/or Core HCM preferred.
