We are seeking an experienced Thermal Engineering Analyst to join our Thermal Group in Stevenage to focus on technical leadership and practical engineering engagement across a diverse range of projects, including Earth Observation, Navigation, Scientific, Telecoms, Rovers, and various satellites.  

The group provides analysis in Space Environment/Physics analysis on various spacecraft projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead and develop a team while working on cutting-edge space projects. If you are a passionate problem-solver with a strong background in thermal analysis, we would love to hear from you.

You will provide technical leadership for thermal analysis processes in Stevenage, collaborating with transnational teams to define, improve and implement best practices and tools.

You will independently plan, execute, and oversee thermal analyses and test activities to ensure thermal control system requirements are met.

You will lead thermal analysis for large-sized projects, applying expertise to select and develop tools, methods, and processes.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

  • Stay updated with thermal systems' evolution, prioritizing design drivers and determining the scope of analysis and test activities.

  • Present analysis results, observations, and conclusions effectively to stakeholders.

  • Influence product/system design teams on technical issues, representing the thermal analysis function.

  • Review thermal analysis and test data or formal documentation from thermal team and external suppliers.

  • Manage outsourcing activities and coordinate analysis work approval.

  • Drive the development and implementation of Space Environment and Physics Analysis processes, enhancing the team's capabilities and fostering growth in this specialized field.

ABOUT YOU

  • Natural problem-solver with a hands-on approach and a passion for driving improvements.

  • Familiarity with test plans and requirements.

  • Advanced understanding of thermal analysis techniques, methods, and principles.

  • Advanced knowledge of thermal analysis software tools (e.g., ESATAN-TMS, Thermica, Systema) and simulation data management.
