Job Description:

Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Senior Systems Analyst to join our MakerSource team, which is the organization designed to attract, develop, and retain entry level IT talent.

In this role in addition to performing business analysis for Infomediary projects, you will take responsibility for leading BA Pod - a team of business analysts assigned to various projects.

Requirements:

  • Manage the team of junior business analysts, measure performance, provide feedback

  • Share technical expertise, identify training needs, provide ongoing support for team members 

  • Lead and participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation; determining daily priorities; following proper escalation paths

  • Develop clear, concise methodology documents, which require proficiency in interviewing skills, workflow analysis, dataflow diagramming, and screen design

  • Facilitate the definition of functional and non-functional requirements by working with programmers and users in prototyping and design sessions

  • Translate and present project concepts into effective visual images which clarify design elements and issues for both business and technical audiences

  • Ensure Agile methodology is followed for project; provide meaningful feedback in accordance with departmental standards and guidelines

  • Identify gaps, risks, and dependencies in requirements and communicate them proactively

  • Participate in development of test strategy, test plans, and test cases since the first part

  • Utilize Jira to organize, track, and update progress on projects throughout their entire life cycle

Qualifications:

  • A technical/programming background or experience working with development teams in financial environment

  • Experience in designing and/or supporting investor relations websites, vendor applications and client reporting/sales enablement tools strongly recommended

  • BA/BS degree and/or related work experience, preferably in Information Systems or related field

  • 5+ years of experience documenting specifications, preferably at a financial services company

  • Full understanding of the business model or the area(s) supported

  • Working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business

  • Strong time management, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills

  • Knowledge of all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle

  • Data analysis –proficiency with SQL, Microsoft Excel

  • Exposure to project work and project planning, as well as project management software
