Position Summary

Prose is seeking a Senior SRE - DevOps Engineer to build, maintain and optimize our infrastructure and platform operations. In this role, you will maintain operational excellence, reduce technical debt, and optimize our systems. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our platform while mentoring and managing a team of engineers.

This role is an opportunity to lead and inspire a team while driving the success of Prose’s infrastructure and development practices. If you are passionate about technical leadership, operational excellence, and reducing technical debt, we’d love to hear from you.

You will join a small, collaborative team (3 people) responsible for developer experience, platform management, best practices, and FinOps. Together, you’ll focus on optimizing infrastructure costs, improving CI/CD, strengthening monitoring and alerting, and partnering closely with engineering and data teams to ensure seamless platform operations.

Our infrastructure runs primarily on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Core Responsibilities:
    • Implement and maintain observability (metrics, logs, traces, alerts).
    • Manage infrastructure as code (Terraform, ArgoCD) and multi-environment clusters securely.
    • Ensure cost-efficient scalability, disaster recovery, and secure networking.
  • CI/CD & Developer Experience:
    • Maintain GitOps/CD pipelines, reusable Helm/Kustomize templates, and artifact security.
    • Improve build efficiency and create self-service tools and “golden paths” for safe deployments.
  • GCP Infrastructure Management:
    • Oversee projects, IAM, budgets, GKE clusters, and cloud service integrations.
    • Manage network security, connectivity, and cost tracking.
  • Observability & Incident Management:
    • Standardize alerts, playbooks, and postmortems.
    • Optimize logging/monitoring and lead post-incident reviews.
  • Governance & Mentorship:
    • Define infra governance (RFCs/ADRs) and document patterns.
    • Mentor developers on cloud-native design, scalability, and reliability.

Key Candidate Requirements

  • Strong expertise of GCP (or AWS), Cloud architecture, Terraform, Helm and ArgoCD.
  • Demonstrated abilities to address and reduce technical debt while maintaining operational excellence. And handle incident management.
  • Experienced with creating, maintaining and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and administrating self-hosted GitLab installations.
    As well as Datadog administration (LGTM or similar also accepted).
  • Good knowledge of Observability (monitoring, alerting, logs, traces, SLO/SLA, …) and programming (code review, pair programming, design patterns, architecture, …) practices.
  • Good communication skills in both French and English, with the ability to write clear technical documentation

 

Hiring process

1. HR Interview — 45 min (Video Call or On-site)

A first conversation with our People Team to get to know you.

2. Technical & Team Interview — 1 hour (On-site)

Meet Arthur (VP engineering) and Bastien (Sr Devops) in person.
They’ll introduce you to the Tech team, our projects, and how we work day to day.

3. Live Technical Assessment — 2 hours (On-site)

Led by Bastien (Sr Devops) and Ivica (VP technology).
You’ll receive 3–4 diagrams of our stack in advance to prepare.
We’ll walk through a live practical exercise simulating a real-world scenario from our environment.
We’ll look at your reasoning, problem-solving process, and ability to communicate clearly under realistic conditions.

4. Final Interview — 45 min (Zoom or On-site)

  • Competitive base salary - 70-75K€ based on xp
