About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer
In this role, you will:
- Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
- Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
- Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
- Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Core Java Development
- Strong understanding of Java SE (Java Standard Edition) and Java EE (Enterprise Edition).
- Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
- Experience with multithreading and concurrent programming.
- Familiarity with Java collections, streams, and functional programming.
Apache Flink
- Knowledge of stream processing and batch processing concepts.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Flink for real-time data processing.
- Understanding of Flink APIs (DataStream, DataSet, Table API).
- Familiarity with stateful processing and event time processing in Flink.
- Ability to optimize Flink jobs for performance and fault tolerance.
Apache Kafka
- Proficiency in Apache Kafka for distributed messaging and event streaming.
- Understanding of Kafka producers, consumers, and topics.
- Experience with Kafka Streams or Kafka Connect.
- Knowledge of partitioning, replication, and offset management.
- Familiarity with schema management using Confluent Schema Registry or Avro.
Python for Gen AI
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python programming.
- Familiarity with Gen AI frameworks like LangChain, Hugging Face Transformers, or OpenAI API.
- Ability to integrate Python-based Gen AI models with Java applications (e.g., via REST APIs or gRPC).
- Understanding of data preprocessing and model inference workflows.
Big Data and Distributed Systems
- Knowledge of distributed systems and data pipelines.
- Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, or other big data frameworks (optional but helpful).
- Understanding of data serialization formats like Avro, Parquet, or JSON.
DevOps and CI/CD
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes for deploying and managing distributed applications.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
Cloud Platforms
- Experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with managed Kafka services (e.g., AWS MSK, Confluent Cloud).
- Knowledge of serverless computing and cloud-native architectures.
General Skills
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA.
- Good understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Bonus Skills
- Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and data engineering.
- Familiarity with Python-Flask or FastAPI for building lightweight AI services.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana for Kafka and Flink
