Your New Role and Responsibilities
The Defence Digital Modernisation business line at Leidos is seeking a collaborative and strategic Senior ServiceNow Architect / Strategist to join our supportive team on a full-time basis. Based in either Melbourne or Canberra, this important leadership position will help shape the design, development, and continuous improvement of ServiceNow platform roadmaps across a large and dynamic Defence program.
With a strong focus on enabling digital transformation, the successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the platform evolves in line with business needs and delivers meaningful impact. This is a role where your ability to build trusted relationships and bring others on the journey will be key. Infrequent travel between locations may be required.
Responsibilities
Strategic Platform Leadership: Guide the ongoing development of the ServiceNow roadmap, ensuring it reflects both organisational priorities and evolving technology opportunities.
Architecture & AI Enablement: Design flexible, secure ServiceNow solutions across key modules (e.g. ITSM, ITOM, ITAM); explore and apply AI features such as predictive intelligence and virtual agents to enhance user experience and efficiency.
Analytics & Insights: Support data-informed decision-making through the configuration and adoption of ServiceNow Performance Analytics, delivering clear, actionable dashboards and KPIs.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with a range of business and technical teams to understand needs, communicate architectural directions, and support the delivery of enhancements that create lasting value.
Governance & Best Practice: Help build and maintain a strong foundation of development standards, governance, and shared best practices to promote consistency, transparency, and quality across the platform.
About You
You are an empathetic and solutions-focused professional who enjoys working collaboratively and bringing others along in the process. You combine technical expertise with strong people skills and a desire to deliver thoughtful, sustainable outcomes. You will bring:
Demonstrated experience leading the development and implementation of ServiceNow roadmaps in large or complex environments; strong knowledge of Platform Analytics, AI features, and system integrations (REST/SOAP APIs); ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect or equivalent qualifications.
A background in enterprise IT strategy, digital transformation, or cloud platforms; familiarity with Agile delivery and DevOps ways of working; a strategic mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to engage meaningfully with stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
A supportive leadership style, with experience mentoring and empowering others; comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a diverse, high-performing team.
A high level of integrity, adaptability, and professionalism, with a calm and proactive approach to navigating complexity.
This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a Baseline level security clearance and uplift to an NV-1.
