Role Purpose 

To lead and optimise TalkTalk’s organic and paid search strategy, driving high-quality traffic, leads, and sales through best-in-class SEO and PPC activity. This role will play a pivotal part in delivering commercial growth, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure digital performance is maximised and aligned to brand and business objectives. 
 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute the SEO and PPC strategy to drive acquisition, retention, and brand visibility across all digital channels. 

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and optimisation of paid search campaigns, ensuring strong ROI and cost efficiency. 

  • Oversee all aspects of SEO, including technical SEO, on-page and off-page optimisation, content strategy, and link building. 

  • Monitor, analyse, and report on performance metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders. 

  • Collaborate with Product, Data, and Tech teams to ensure campaigns are aligned with business priorities, messaging, and the latest advancements in AI-driven search and digital marketing. 

  • Proactively explore and implement new approaches to SEO and PPC in response to changes in search engine algorithms, AI-powered search, and emerging technologies. 

  • Manage relationships with external agencies and technology partners to deliver best-in-class digital performance. 

  • Champion a culture of test-and-learn, continuously improving digital marketing effectiveness through experimentation and innovation. 

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, search engine algorithm updates, and the evolving impact of AI on search and paid media. 
     

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

 

Knowledge: 

  • Deep understanding of SEO and PPC best practices, tools, and platforms. 

  • Strong grasp of digital marketing, web analytics, and conversion rate optimisation. 

  • Awareness of the telecoms, utilities, or other consumer-facing sectors is desirable. 

Skills: 

  • Advanced analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans. 

  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, able to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously. 

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. 

  • Technical proficiency in website optimisation, keyword research, and campaign management. 

  • Creative problem-solving and a test-and-learn mindset. 

Experience: 

  • Significant experience in a senior SEO and/or PPC role, ideally in a B2C environment. 

  • Proven track record of delivering successful search marketing campaigns with measurable commercial impact. 

  • Experience managing external agencies, partners, and suppliers. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work in agile, cross-functional teams.
