The Senior Software Project Manager plays a pivotal role in driving delivery excellence across our Software portfolio. This role ensures projects are delivered in alignment with CMD Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) standards, enabling predictable, high-quality outcomes that advance our mission of enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
You will lead sophisticated, cross-functional software initiatives—often spanning multiple products, platforms, and stakeholder groups—through all phases of the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding, focused execution, and outstanding communication skills to deliver results in a multifaceted, matrixed environment.
In this role, you will be a critical leader in ensuring our software products are delivered predictably, compliantly, and with excellence. You will work at the intersection of technology and science, partnering with experts across teams to deliver solutions that empower scientists worldwide. Lead end-to-end project delivery across the software portfolio, ensuring adherence to SDLC processes and highest quality standards.
Partner closely with Product Management, R&D, Quality, Marketing, and Operations to translate strategic objectives into executable project plans.
Define scope, landmarks, resource plans, and success criteria, ensuring clarity and alignment across all interested parties.
Manage risks, dependencies, and changes proactively, using data-driven insights to advise decisions and maintain delivery predictability.
Prepare and present project updates to leadership, ensuring visibility on progress, risks, and mitigations.
Facilitate collaboration across global and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and maintain focus on key deliverables.
Drive continuous improvement by championing lessons learned, process optimization, and knowledge sharing across the PMO community.
Supply data insights to portfolio reporting and resource management, supporting strategic prioritization and business planning cycles.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Confirmed experience (7+ years) leading software or technology projects within a structured PMO or regulated environment.
Strong understanding of modern SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid), including release management and quality assurance practices.
Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects on time, within scope and budget, across distributed teams.
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Planview, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, or equivalent).
PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification highly desirable.
Experience managing software projects in a scientific, laboratory, or regulated (e.g., GxP) environment.
Familiarity with SaaS development, cloud deployment, or digital transformation initiatives.
Strong analytical approach and ability to balance structure with flexibility in a constantly evolving environment.
