Senior Project Manager - Integrated Facilities Management

Role Purpose

The Senior Project Manager leads complex, high-value design and construction projects from conception through completion, ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives while delivering exceptional results within prescribed schedule and budget parameters. This role requires advanced project leadership capabilities, mentoring junior team members, and driving innovation in project delivery methodologies.

Serves as primary client interface for strategic initiatives, manages cross-functional stakeholder relationships, and provides executive-level reporting and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

This senior-level position requires extensive independent judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders while mentoring and developing junior project management staff.

What this job involves

Strategic Leadership & Planning

  • Develop comprehensive construction and engineering strategies in partnership with procurement teams and senior leadership

  • Lead portfolio-level project planning and resource allocation across multiple concurrent initiatives

  • Establish project governance frameworks and lead cross-functional project delivery teams

  • Drive strategic decision-making for complex project challenges and escalations

Financial Management & Oversight

  • Own end-to-end project financial management including funding strategies, budget development, forecasting, and variance analysis for projects exceeding €500M-10MM

  • Lead value engineering initiatives and cost optimization strategies across project portfolios

  • Generate comprehensive business cases and ROI analyses for major capital investments

  • Manage and approve project funding requests with senior leadership oversight

Advanced Project Delivery

  • Create and manage complex construction schedules for large-scale, multi-phase space delivery programs

  • Ensure technical excellence and regulatory compliance across all project deliverables

  • Lead all project-related compliance activities, audits, and quality assurance processes

  • Drive innovation in project delivery methodologies and best practices implementation

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Serve as primary client interface for high-profile, strategic initiatives

  • Lead contractor evaluation processes, complex bid analyses, and strategic award recommendations

  • Generate and manage comprehensive project charters with executive-level success criteria

  • Own strategic project communication and executive reporting across all organizational levels

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentor and develop junior project management staff and cross-functional team members

  • Lead change management processes for complex organizational and technical initiatives

  • Drive integration and collaboration amongst diverse project teams and service lines

  • Establish and maintain project standards, practices, and knowledge management systems

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for large-scale initiatives and develop mitigation strategies

  • Ensure permitting and regulatory compliance across site establishment, construction, and operations

  • Lead project closeout processes ensuring adherence to quality standards and client satisfaction

  • Manage project documentation and knowledge transfer for organizational learning

Experience & Education

  • 7-10 years of progressive project management experience, with at least 3 years in senior or lead roles

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred but not required

  • Experience managing projects with budgets exceeding €2-5M

Leadership & Strategic Skills

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior staff

  • Strategic thinking capabilities with ability to align projects with business objectives

  • Experience in stakeholder management at C-level and executive leadership levels

  • Change management and organizational development experience

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of construction and engineering best practices and industry standards

  • Strong financial acumen including budget management, forecasting, and value engineering

  • Expert-level communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with commercial awareness

Personal Attributes

  • Adaptable, creative, decisive, and confident leader

  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

  • Calm under pressure with strong crisis management capabilities
