What You’ll Do:

• Design, plan, develop and/or evaluate new, advanced hardware and software technologies and enhancements/modifications of existing products for addition and/or application to existing network systems.
• Recommends network architecture and network evolution strategy in support of corporate initiatives, customer demand, technology changes, economic and service reliability criteria.
• Evaluates new and emerging hardware and software technologies for addition and/or application to existing cloud-based and purpose-built network systems. Develop new or use existing network modeling and planning methodologies to develop best cost-considerate solutions and 3+ Year technology strategic roadmap.
• Define subsystems interfaces, identify, and allocate application resources for software-defined network elements of cloud- based and purpose-built platforms that may be developed internally and by vendors.
• Develop test and implementation plans, including M&P, for both internally designed and vendor-developed hardware/software solutions.
• Evaluate impact of vendor's solution on Mobility and Wireline networks and/or applications, service, or solution. May perform product engineering assignments, including design, development, M&P, and testing of network hardware, firmware, or software solutions. Lead and roll out design and design changes to partner organizations.
• Work across the different domain teams to define end-to-end, system-level design requirements, as well as, providing architectural expertise and guidance to the cross-functional teams (Labs, Global Technology Planning, Operations, Project Management, etc.) from requirements through to deployment.

What You’ll Need:

• Hands on experience with network design, network forecasting, capacity planning management within large service provider networks
• Solid understanding of layer 2 and layer 3 networks, including experience with routers and switches (Cisco IOS, JunOS).
• Ability to broadly understand network routing protocols and translate engineering guidelines into effective POP designs.
• Hands on experience with budget planning, forecasting, and reconciliation within large service provider networks
• Proficiency with MS Office applications, and hands-on experience in automation tools and processes.
• Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and recommendations.
• Positive attitude and a proactive, can-do approach to problem-solving and teamwork.

Our Senior Network Technology Engineer, earns between $118,800.00 - $190,900.00 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
