Campaign effectiveness is at the core of the Senior Marketing Analyst’s role, which involves analysing data across multiple channels to inform strategic decision-making, deliver actionable insights, and optimize planning to enhance overall marketing impact.
About the role:
The Marketing Campaign Effectiveness Analyst reports to the Head of Media & Marketing Operations. The role is responsible for uncovering insights and identifying opportunities across a wide range of marketing activity through managing and analysing data to drive customer-centric and insights-driven decision making.
Working closely with the marketing team and key stakeholders internally and externally, this role requires a mix of strategic thinking, business, market and audience knowledge plus in-depth data / analytical skills. This business-critical role will leverage all available data platforms to generate valuable insights and strategic recommendations that support Telstra’s marketing strategy and key initiatives.
In this role, you will stay informed on the latest developments in marketing effectiveness research and provide strategic guidance to Telstra’s marketing teams, translating key insights into practical applications across campaigns and broader marketing initiatives.
What you’ll do:
Marketing Effectiveness Research
Maintain strong knowledge of marketing effectiveness research, broadly reading, researching and acting as Telstra’s principal marketing effectiveness subject matter expert.
Campaign Reporting, Execution and Strategy
Ongoing reporting captain across the entire Marketing team.
Conduct in-flight and post-campaign analysis using diverse data sources to evaluate performance and deliver actionable recommendations and timely reporting to the Marketing team.
Provide specialist leadership in briefing, reviewing, and developing strategic marketing effectiveness recommendations.
Manipulate and analyse large, multi-source data sets to generate actionable business and marketing insights
Implement effective data visualisation via dashboards and reporting for use across teams
Contribute to experiment design for campaign execution where appropriate.
Build a process and culture obsessed with effectiveness where insights drive decisions.
Develop marketing effectiveness recommendations and reports
Educate and upskill marketing team members on understanding of effectiveness knowledge.

Extensive experience in data analysis and marketing performance evaluation.
Strong ability to derive actionable insights from complex data sets.
Proficient in interpreting business metrics and marketing KPIs.
Skilled in campaign analysis and marketing optimization.
Solid background in marketing analytics tools and platforms.
Deep understanding of marketing strategies and data-driven decision-making.
Experience as a Marketing Subject Matter Expert (SME) is a plus.
Effective communicator with cross-functional collaboration skills.
Proven track record in similar roles.
