Senior Manager, Staff Software Engineering - Data

Under limited supervision, leads and manages the activities of providing data-
centric solutions to various business domains for various business scenarios, by
collaborating with business partners and other engineering functions. Builds,
leads, and mentors a cross-functional engineering team of up to 15 engineers with
technical oversight of 2 to 5 key strategic domains with cross organizational
dependencies.
 

Essential Functions:
1. Interviews and/or approves job applicants for employment. conducts and/or
reviews associate performance appraisals. Initiates or approves salary
adjustments, performance ratings, and other personnel changes. Counsels
associates and takes disciplinary action or terminates the employment of
associates as appropriate.
2. Collaborates closely with business customers and other engineering
functions to the build the right solutions.
3. Manages the activities of engineers and engineer teams in the establishment
and implementation of new or revised systems and programs.
4. Responsible for software implementations ensuring accuracy and
completeness and approves them for implementation.
5. Monitors and analyzes functional and non-functional requirements in
accordance with regulatory and operating requirements.
6. Conducts research to understand diverse perspectives from business,
project management, design, and other areas to assess likely reactions to
new initiatives or products and forecast their potential.
7. Manages the investigation of interruptions to functional areas of existing
systems. Assists engineers and others in diagnosing cause of problems.
Manages remedy actions.
8. Analyzes the impact of new hardware and software on existing systems.
9. Trains, mentors and provides developmental opportunities for engineers to
assure performance expectations are met.
10.Periodically reviews existing systems for possible program or systems
improvement or enhancements.
11.Assists in the preparation of all required management reports.
12.Prepares department business plans, staffing projections and budgets.
Requisitions supplies and materials necessary for efficient operation.
Reviews plans and budgets periodically to achieve cost reduction where
possible.
13.Adheres to the Code of Conduct, company policies, and operating principles.
14.Meets attendance standard at business location to perform necessary job
functions and to facilitate interaction with management and co-workers and
if applicable direct reports.

  • employees of the organization
  • Must be able to perform under pressure and stressful situations
  • May be required to be on call for production support 24x7
  • Must be able to concentrate and demonstrate a capacity for learning
  • technical concepts and adapting to new technologies quickly

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required
  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including
  • software development lifecycle best practices
  • 5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment
  • 5+ years of hands-on work experience supervising personnel in a technical
  • environment
  • 2+ years' experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and
  • End-to-End functional testing

​Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • 5+ years of professional experience focusing on data engineering, including
  • but not limited to large scale data movement and processing, data
  • architecture, compute and storage performance and efficiency, machine
  • learning / AI, analytic user experience and management, business
  • intelligence, data-centric application development
  • 5+ years of experience in financial industry


 

Annual Salary

$140,000.00 - $300,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
