Position Brand Description:

A Sr. Manager - QC provides direction and/or conducts an area’s daily workload planning, compliance, and overall customer service. They must be committed to personnel interactions (approachable) and will spend considerable time as a mentor/supporter of reporting staff. The Sr. Manager is also responsible for coordinating laboratory analysts’ performance planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, leading safety initiatives, and working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
  • Proactively manage day-to-day business.  This includes interactions with production planners, sample submitters, et.al, to manage laboratory workload and throughput.
  • Maintain a high-level understanding of the laboratory processes and be responsible for analyst training on laboratory methods.
  • Develop career plans for laboratory analysts.
  • Enforce compliance to all procedures, methods, and other regulatory commitments.
  • Provide technical understanding of the regulations applicable to laboratory testing for cGMP purposes.
  • Serve as a team change agent, safety agent.
  • Participate as primary laboratory contact for internal and external audits.


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor (4-year college) degree in Chemistry / Biology / Microbiology
  • Three to five years of demonstrated experience in a GMP QC laboratory environment.

Additional Information:

  • Ability to work 8 hour days – Monday through Friday
  • Ability to cover weekends, holidays, and company shutdowns as needed.
  • Minimal travel required.
  • Applicant will work in various areas within the Parenteral Plant.  Some allergens are present in the parenteral plant. Mobility requirements and exposure to allergens should be considered when applying for this position.
  • Tasks may require repetitive motion (e.g., keyboarding).

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$94,500 - $138,600

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
