Senior Manager Portfolio Management, Group Financial Risk

See the bigger picture. Shape the future of risk.

You thrive in a people-first, innovative team. You’ll play a highly valued, visible role shaping the way we manage credit risk across the Group.

See yourself in our team

Group Financial Risk (GFR) is a collaborative, forward-thinking team driving the Group’s credit frameworks, managing credit risk exposures, and supporting non-retail customers through the Group Credit Structuring Unit.

Within GFR, the Portfolio, Policy and Provisioning (PPP) team partners with Line 1 and Line 2 teams across all Business Units (Bus) and Subsidiaries to deliver best practice credit risk policies and strategies.

The Portfolio Management team - part of PPP - designs, manages, and monitors Group-wide credit risk policies, standards, and concentration limits. We provide expert advice on regulatory requirements and deliver insights to senior management, the Board, and external stakeholders. Learning, curiosity, and collaboration are core to how we work — and your ideas can shape real outcomes.

Do work that matters

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management, you’ll play a key role in shaping the Group’s non-retail credit risk portfolio. You’ll connect portfolio insights, external conditions, and policy changes to support senior leaders and the Board in making informed, high-impact decisions.

As Senior Manager, Portfolio Management, you’ll lead strategic non-retail credit risk initiatives, champion continuous improvement in risk reporting and policy development, and strengthen our credit portfolio management. You’ll gain valuable exposure to senior leaders, build a strong peer network, and be challenged to solve evolving issues.

We’re a people-driven function where learning and development are embedded in everything we do — from mentorship and project exposure to opportunities for cross-functional collaboration.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Advising senior management and BUs on APRA Prudential Standards for Credit Risk (APS 112, APS 113, APS 220, APS 221).

  • Representing PPP as a subject matter expert on strategic projects, industry discussions, and regulatory engagements.

  • Enhancing the team’s data and analytics capabilities to support regular and ad-hoc queries, deep dives, and portfolio optimisation.

  • Researching, , and developing Group-wide credit policies in response to regulatory change or Board requirements.

  • Engaging with Business Units to ensure standards and strategies align with Group Credit Policy and regulatory requirements.

  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Group.
