Senior Manager, Early Talent & New Hire Programs - US Commercial Bank

The Senior Manager, Early Talent and New Hire Programs plays a critical role in shaping the future of US Commercial Bank workforce by creating inclusive, high-impact experiences that accelerate role readiness, engagement and retention. The role is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving programs that support the attraction, onboarding, and development of new to BMO, Commercial Bank, role and early-career talent. The role requires expert-level program and change management skills to manage complex initiatives. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Program design and strategy: Own and lead the development and evolution of early talent programs, such as CADP and Internship along with New Hire. Conduct needs analyses to define program requirements and design a strategy that aligns with overall business goals.
  • End-to-end program management: Drive the execution of all program components, which includes planning, stakeholder management, change management, and communications. Creates learning journey, roadmap and coordinate activities to ensure resources and budgets are synchronized and deadlines are met.
  • Talent attraction and development: Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to attract and recruit early talent. Enable the career development of new hires to build key capabilities needed by the business.
  • Stakeholder management: Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders across the organization, including senior leaders and HR partners. Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to provide strategic input and recommendations.
  • Monitoring and improvement: Monitor and track the progress of programs, assess outcomes, and use data to identify insights. Continuously review and update programs to ensure they are competitive and effective.
  • Communication and culture: Create and manage internal communication plans for career programs and foster a culture that aligns with BMO's purpose, values, and strategy, including promoting inclusion. Collaborating with Corporate Communications to lead external campaigns that highlight Early Talent Programs.
  • Vendor and SME oversight: maintains relationships and ensures regular reviews are in place, key performance indicators are monitored, service level agreements are met and service costs are kept within budget.
  • Industry Insights: monitor industry developments and continuously update programs to ensure they are competitive and effective
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a small team or cross-functional working group focused on early talent and onboarding initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably with a focus on designing and scaling early talent and/or onboarding programs across large organizations.
  • Experience in Commercial Bank is an asset
  • Post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strategic thinking, project and program management, and stakeholder management – In-depth/Expert
  • Experience in adult learning principles, learning design and facilitation - In-depth/Expert.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on execution – In-depth/Expert.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.

Salary:

$102,000.00 - $190,000.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
