What is the opportunity?

The Business Governance, Senior Manager will contribute to the success of Wealth Management Europe (WME) through provision of a comprehensive and effective first line of defence. In conjunction with the Director, Business Governance, the role is responsible for building on current FLOD framework to comply with Product Governance requirements in the UK, Channel Islands and Ireland, and Consumer Duty requirements in the UK.  In general, the role will liaise and collaborate with product owners, business heads and the 2LOD functions as required to ensure risks are monitored, managed, reported and mitigated.

What will you do?

  • Build upon current FLOD Product Governance and Consumer Duty programmes to embed and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory, enterprise and local requirements.
  • Assist Product Owners in completing the Product Risk Tool to a sufficient standard, ensuring the product is well described and the risks/controls are well-articulated.
  • Review product papers and fair value assessments prior to issuing to risk approvers.
  • Ensure existing products are reviewed in accordance with their schedule and accelerated as needed.
  • Continually assess and review wider product governance processes. This includes new products, existing product cyclical reviews, product amendments and product closure.
  • Oversee the team, to ensure procedures are kept up to date and published as needed.
  • Act as SME and trusted adviser to Product Owners.
  • Act as mentor and coach to others in the team.
  • Where required, deliver training to the business on product governance
  • Lead, participate and execute on projects and initiatives for and on behalf of Business Governance. This may or may not be Product Governance or Consumer Duty related.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Knowledge of WME products and services and experience in wealth management services.
  • Knowledge and experience of product governance and Consumer Duty.
  • Knowledge and experience of risk management and quality assurance within financial services
  • Proven communication and inter-personal skills necessary for working with senior stakeholders, business heads, functional partners and members within team.
  • Knowledge of the principles of UK financial services, regulatory requirement and building FLOD framework.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills.
  • Ability to work within defined parameters, to tight deadlines and under pressure.
  • Proficient in excel, power-point and report writing.

Nice to have

  • Ability to understand and analyse end to end procedures with a view of making them more efficient and robust.
