Overview:
Collins Aerospace is seeking qualified candidates for an experienced software engineer to join our development team for Flight Management Application content for Fixed Wing aircraft within our Military Avionics Flight Management Applications department, located in Hyderabad, India

Primary Roles & Responsibilities:

   • Lead the team from the front as software development lead for Flight Management applications & coordinate between customer needs and the team's deliverables.
   • Lead a cross-functional team daily and coordinate regularly with engineering and project management to ensure the success of the product and program
   • Includes managing aspects of quality, cost, schedule, and scope while navigating the various team dynamics present
   • Manages work processes, optimisation methods, and risk management tools for large or complex projects.
   • Lead feature development tasks, including design implementation plans, design approach reviews (DARs), software requirements and software level integration testing.
   • Provides analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and software level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and makes recommendations for the generation of verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
   • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and cross-functional teams for a unified solution.
   • Will write requirements, design and implement software, develop test procedures, perform verification, and complete artifacts for certification.

Basic Qualifications:
   • Education: BE / B Tech / ME / M Tech
   • 7+ years of software development experience in Flight Management Application and safety-critical applications.
   • Strong experience in C/C++, Ada95 programming skills, Python/dxl scripting, MATLAB-Simulink, State flow, Embedded C, Linux shell scripting.
   • Experience with RTOS concepts, Multicore/Multi-Threading, memory management, and performance optimisation in complex environments and Lynx OS.
   • Experience in secure coding practices & coding standards.
   • End-to-end software Development activities as per DO178B/C guidelines.
   • Expertise with Software Configuration Management and Change Control Process (DOORS, JAMA, SVN, JIRA, GIT, Confluence, etc.).
   • Experience with development tool sets, GPS GNAT, Git, SVN, Visual Studio Code, VectorCast, cmake & other simulation tools.
   • Understanding of the I/O, communication protocols A429, A661, A664 and networking protocol.
   • Experience with automated test frameworks, unit testing, and requirements traceability.
   • Experience in leadership roles (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Release Train Engineer).
   • Experience in full life cycle software engineering processes
   • Strong Software development and verification experience in real-time embedded systems

Preferred Qualification:

• Exposure to web development, Electron, NodeJS, HTML, JavaScript.

   • Exposure to ACDE/CDO/DevOps for continuous integration.
   • Exposure to Agile-based software development.
   • Exposure to the SOI Audits and Certification process.
   • May be involved in researching, evaluating and recommending investments or changes in technology, resources, procedures, equipment, systems, or other assets to improve the quality of the organisation's systems, products and services.
   • Understanding of system software concepts, binary executables, debug information, and OS concepts.
