Job Description

This position focuses on Product Performance Testing from various customers and industries in a fully accredited certification lab. Often, the customer's goal is to demonstrate that their device conforms to the applicable industry standard(s). Thus, a successful candidate will provide a positive customer experience while driving productivity with fresh ideas and ensuring our Allen-Bradley quality legacy throughout our daily operations.

Specific duties include configuring test equipment, conducting tests with an emphasis on safety, reviewing results and collecting data per agency and customer requirements. Responsibilities also include monitoring test lab equipment performance, identifying and implementing lab improvements, and owning various preventive maintenance tasks. This is a dual location role in Wisconsin – primary location in Milwaukee and secondary location in Mequon.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Continuously gain working knowledge of Product Performance Testing Laboratories by conducting tests for Rockwell Automation business units and for outside customers. Environmental testing includes: Shock & Vibration, Highly Accelerated Life Test, Ingress Protection and Packaging. Power testing includes: Temperature Rise, Endurance, Medium Current, and High Current.
  • The position requires working with high voltage and currents -- strict adherence to safety procedures is vital for lab staff and their customers. Projects with Employee Health & Safety and Facilities are typical in this role.
  • Collaborate with Product Compliance and external regulatory bodies (who determine test requirements) while ensuring that tests are conducted as intended
  • Support logistics of lab operations by answering questions from lab customers and physically assisting with testing while ensuring an organized, productive, and safe workflow. The job frequently requires physical strength and agility in the movement and setup of test and laboratory equipment.
  • Proficiently and safely operate large material handling equipment such as pallet hand trucks and fork lift trucks to facilitate movement and setup of test and laboratory equipment (fork truck training/license provided by ROK)
  • Contribute to Team's revenue target and test report turnaround time metric by completing customer appointments and providing correct data for review.
  • Strengthen Team's preventive maintenance program through familiarity of assets and owning tasks in Fiix system.
  • Participate in various audits to maintain lab accreditations. Focus on annual procedure reviews, training for self, and training of others.
  • Demonstrate initiative in areas not explicitly outlined in role description while maintaining a proactive mindset in response to shifting organizational needs

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel 10%of the time.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • 2+ years of experience of related experience
  • Experience in electrical power testing or computerized instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of measurement equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, torque wrench, thermocouples, accelerometers)
  • Exposure to audits, quality standards and compliance work
  • Customer service experience
