Senior Inventory Systems Analyst (18-Month Contract)

Job Description:

As a member of the Finance Business Technology group, the Senior Inventory Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting the financial and warehousing systems. This position uses their prior experience within a distribution center environment to resolve issues, design and run queries, reports, and analytics in response to requests by end users and provide training on systems as required. This position is also responsible for representing finance on various information technology projects such as a new warehouse management system (WMS) as well as system upgrades.

This position will build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with relevant stakeholders such as Information Technology, Finance & Accounting, Supply Chain, and other business teams as required.

This role will backfill responsibilities related to inventory systems support, financial integrations, and cross-functional collaboration during a period of transition and project activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inventory reconciliations between financial system (NAV) and WMS system (Manhattan)
  • Provide systems support to the finance team, particularly Inventory Accounting group, with inventory subsystems and related integrations into the financial management system and to the Distribution Centre team
  • Support the development of integrations between the new WMS systems and the Financial Management system including gathering end user requirements, collaboration with other Business Analysts on the design, writing test scripts and performing testing of the final solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, investigate, and solve operation system issues as they relate to financial transactions and information between financial system and distribution centers.
  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with Business Partners and Cross-functional team members: IT, Finance, Supply Chain, and other business units to confirm accuracy in financial postings.
  • Ensure finance requirements for inventory accounting, costing, and controls are met in warehouse process change initiatives.
  • Document processes, production bugs & investigations, and work with IT to address incidents as needed.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements.

Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications

  • An accounting designation, degree in business, or a related field is preferred. CPA strongly preferred
  • 4–5 years of experience in inventory accounting, costing, and supply chain finance.
  • Experience with a warehouse management system is required (preferably Manhattan).
  • Experience or familiarity with technologies and best practices in a distribution center environment
  • Experience in implementing, integrating, and working with Financial Management Systems for a mid-sized company (Microsoft Dynamics NAV, or related) is preferred.
  • Experience in contributing to multiple project initiatives and delivering results in fast paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Tableau and Microsoft Access is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills to handle large data sets
