*This role is aligned to the Diamond Infrastructure Solutions (“Diamond Infra”) company and will be seconded from Dow to Diamond Infrastructure Solutions until January 1, 2027. At that time, the role will become directly aligned to the Diamond Infrastructure Solutions Company.*

Diamond Infrastructure Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Improvement Engineer in the Logistics Chemicals organization located in Seadrift, TX. This role serves as a vital resource for Logistics Chemicals team by applying technical and organizational skills to drive the plant level continuous improvement program targeted at delivering maximum value from the assets, while continuously improving EH&S, process safety and production efficiency. Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadened capabilities.

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Possesses in-depth process technology and continuous improvement skill sets helping to establish credibility with the operations team. Sees themselves as a vital part and key player of the Logistics Chemicals team. 
  • Drives knowledge exchange with technology experts to increase awareness of potential improvement opportunities for the technology.
  • Partners with the experts to develop and implement a Plant Specific Technology Plan that delivers positive year-over-year ROC (return on capital) and non-capital continuous improvement while meeting the plant level EH&S improvement goals.
  • Leads and supports plant continuous improvement activities aligned to the PSTP and also supports the capital plan for the facility. Leads continuous improvement activities for the facility and may serve in specific GPM related roles of project manager or manufacturing representative.
  • Champions process safety activities and acts as a resource for relevant process safety concerns. Partners with plant operation and maintenance personnel to identify and track performance indicators to be used in identification of technology gaps and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Supports the facility root cause investigation process by serving as a RCI facilitator and team member for incidents. Owns the Noise Meter tracker and ensures completion and through follow up of incidents.
  • Champions the “next unplanned event” exercise for the plant and ensures potential solutions are captured in the appropriate prioritization system.
  • Project manager and/or Manufacturing Representative for projects under $2MM and responsible for safe, timely and within budget implementation of projects per the GPM.
  • Participates in the on-call program for plant immediate response and advising similar to other day support roles.
  • An influential leader with owner’s mindset who participates and supports the organization’s strategic programs and team: Protect/RCT, Inspire, Deliver
  • Performs secondary PSFP support in performing PSCE calculations 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant working experience.
  • Must already have or be eligible to apply for a TWIC card.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

  • Continuous Improvement: A structured approach to enhancing processes by eliminating waste, reducing variability, and improving efficiency using data-driven methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA):  A problem-solving technique used to identify the underlying cause of an issue or failure, ensuring corrective actions address the source rather than symptoms.
  • Project Planning:  The process of defining project objectives, scope, timelines, resources, and risks to ensure successful execution within budget and safety standards.
  • Data Analysis: The ability to collect, interpret, and leverage data to identify trends, measure performance, and support decision-making for process optimization and safety improvements.
