Job Description

Albemarle is hiring for a Senior Financial Analyst. This position is hybrid (3 days/week in office) and located in Charlotte, NC.

Role Purpose:

The Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department is dedicated to delivering best-in-class information and analysis through data, metrics, and reporting to improve Albemarle’s decision-making and operational efficiency. The Senior FP&A Analyst plays a key role in supporting analysis and reporting, annual operating plan, and monthly forecasting for corporate functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The individual is responsible for providing day-to-day support to corporate functions and will be responsible for cost center reporting process, functional cost analytics and identifying opportunities for process improvements.  The role requires a digital technology skillset to leverage and improve processes and tools related to cost center reporting and analytics.  The successful individual relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals, performs various tasks and can work independently with limited supervision. 

What You Will Do

  • Primary support corporate functions on spending and performance.
  • Report on financial performance and preparing for leadership reviews.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support development and maintenance of the corporate function annual operating plan and monthly forecast by working with leadership and process owners.
  • Develop automated reporting and forecasting tools.
  • Recommend actions based on data interpretation.
  • Serve as a business point of contact for corporate productivity projects and cost center data needs including, but not limited to, productivity tracker validations and tracking, cost center analysis and maintenance, reporting tools, data accuracy, and continuous process improvements.
  • Provide support and training on the forecasting tool, Cost Center Model and cost center owner processes. 
  • Support special projects.

What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (required).
  •  Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in:
    • Financial report and analysis
    • Data analytics
    • General ledger accounting

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and propose value-adding recommendations.
  • Technologically adept with a focus on data analytics and process improvement.
  • High energy, self-starter, and team player.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to see the big picture.
  • Ability to manage and analyze large datasets to derive insights.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Agility to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • High integrity, ethics, and awareness of safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • SAP BI, HANA/S4
  • Microsoft Excel (advanced skills including pivot tables and formulas)
  • Power BI
  • Microsoft Work and PowerPoint
