The Role + Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Senior Financial Analyst to join the J.Crew Group Corporate Finance team. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, FP&A, this role will support all J.Crew brands (J.Crew, J.Crew Factory, and Madewell). The analyst will play a critical role in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and strategic analysis, while partnering closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to deliver insights that drive profitable growth across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Lead monthly forecast processes, consolidating and analyzing financial results across all brands, channels, and functions.
  • Manage comprehensive operating expense budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans for both store and ecommerce businesses.
  • Partner with accounting and business stakeholders to investigate variances and ensure accurate, timely reporting.

Performance Analysis & Insights

  • Prepare monthly P&L reviews for senior leadership, providing commentary and actionable insights on financial and operating performance.
  • Develop financial reports, dashboards, and KPI tracking to inform strategic decisions and highlight business trends.
  • Collaborate with brand and functional leaders (merchandising, marketing, store operations, etc.) to analyze sales, margin, and expense performance.

Executive & Board Support

  • Support development of presentations and schedules for the Board of Directors, Executive Leadership, and Strategy team, including financial performance updates, KPI tracking, and strategic initiative reviews.
  • Contribute to quarterly earnings preparation by analyzing operating and financial metrics, benchmarking against peers, and creating leadership Q&A guides.

Business Partnership & Strategy

  • Collaborate with business teams to build sales and margin plans, assess risks and opportunities, and evaluate key growth initiatives.
  • Develop robust financial models to support strategic initiatives, investments, and potential transactions.
  • Drive process improvements through automation, standardization, and enhanced reporting capabilities.

Systems & Tools

  • Partner on financial system and reporting hierarchy management (Hyperion, SAP), including design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Continuously improve efficiency and accuracy of financial planning and reporting tools.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years in FP&A, corporate finance/strategy, investment banking, consulting, or related fields.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and financial modeling expertise with the ability to simplify complex analyses into actionable insights.
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with proven ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
    • Collaborative team player with strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset.
  • Technical: Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Hyperion and SAP strongly preferred.

Salary Range: $80,800.00 - $97,000.00

The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region of work premises, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.  The base salary is just one component of J.Crew Group’s competitive total rewards strategy that also includes the opportunity for bonus, competitive benefits and perks.
