About the team
Our Groceries team is at the forefront of Careem's mission to simplify and improve lives in the Middle East. Operating in one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving verticals, the Groceries team is focused on building a reliable, fast, and affordable grocery delivery experience. You will be joining a passionate group of builders and operators working together to scale and localize our offerings across markets.

What you'll do

  • Own and drive the strategy for expansion into new cities and regions
  • Conduct market assessments and feasibility studies to identify key opportunities
  • Define and execute go-to-market strategies including dark store footprint, inventory planning, and local vendor partnerships
  • Partner closely with central operations, marketing, supply chain, finance, and product teams to ensure successful launches
  • Lead on-ground teams to implement launch plans and optimize operational performance post-launch
  • Monitor KPIs and continuously improve speed, selection, and customer experience in new markets
  • Report on progress, identify bottlenecks, and communicate key milestones with leadership

What you'll need

  • 6–8 years of experience in expansion, operations, strategy, or general management
  • Proven experience launching or scaling operations in tech, grocery, q-commerce, or logistics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort navigating ambiguity
  • Exceptional project management and cross-functional coordination capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English; Arabic is a plus
  • A passion for building and scaling businesses in the region
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work from the ground during launch phases
