Job Summary:
The candidate will be responsible for project management of new business projects as well as engineering support to existing products in Power Tools, Battery Chargers, and Outdoor Power Equipment product categories. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
· Manage multiple concurrent projects through all phases including design, development, testing, production launch, and post-launch support.
· Work closely with cross functional teams including sales, marketing, finance, operations, quality assurance, tooling, manufacturing engineering, and other key stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects within budgeted costs.
· Create and manage detailed schedules for each project. Track progress against schedule and proactively identify risks and issues which may impact timing or cost of projects. Develop and implement plans to mitigate these risks.
· Create and manage budgets for each project. Track spending against budget and proactively identify areas where costs can be reduced without compromising product performance or functionality.
· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers on project team.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
· Minimum of five years of related work experience. Experience with automotive battery chargers, power tools, outdoor power equipment, or appliances preferred.
· Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and inspire direct reports and other team members.
· Proven ability to effectively communicate complex ideas both verbally and written.
· Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
· Proficiency with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, Access, Visio, and Project. SolidWorks CAD experience required; Siemens NX CAD experience preferred.
· Ability to travel up to 10%.
