Senior Electrical Engineer – Diesel Pump Assembly & Integration

Purpose of Role:

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our shop floor assembly team, specializing in diesel engine–driven pump systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electrical harnessing, system integration, instrumentation setup, and control panel troubleshooting. This role is essential to ensuring reliable and efficient assembly of pump systems for industrial and commercial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and install electrical harnesses for diesel engine–driven pump systems.

  • Integrate electrical components with mechanical pump assemblies on the shop floor.

  • Perform wiring, termination, and layout of control panels.

  • Install and calibrate instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature sensors, etc.).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in control panels and instrumentation circuits.

  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.

  • Conduct functional and continuity testing of electrical systems.

  • Collaborate with mechanical and design teams to ensure seamless integration.

  • Maintain documentation of assembly procedures, test results, and issue logs.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards during all phases of assembly.

  • Ensure compliance with IEC, NEMA, and local electrical codes and safety standards.

  • Work closely with mechanical, design, and quality teams to resolve integration challenges.

  • Provide feedback to engineering for design improvements and manufacturability.

  • Promote zero-harm culture through training, participation, and consultation.

  • Actively encourage team participation and open dialogue to improve safety and environmental performance.

  • Supervise and guide team members.

  • Apply VSM for process optimization.

  • Manage daily/weekly/monthly production check sheets and reports.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical assembly, preferably in diesel pump systems.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Diesel engine electrical harnessing and integration

    • Control panel wiring and fault diagnosis

  • Proficiency with electrical tools and diagnostic equipment (multimeters, loop calibrators, etc.).

  • Familiarity with industrial safety standards and electrical codes.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge in 6s, Lean, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to water treatment, or industrial pumping applications.

  • Knowledge of grounding, shielding, and EMI mitigation techniques.
