Job Description: Senior DUA Assistant

How does this role contribute to our collective success?

As a Senior Delegated Underwriting Assistant, you will help ensure the oversight and compliance of delegated authority arrangements by assisting the Delegated UW Manager in managing the administration of all business written into AXIS Global Markets Division under delegated authority contracts.

What will you do in this role?

  • You will provide guidance and support to underwriting units in relation to Delegated authority business and ensure compliance with Lloyd’s Code of Practice and minimum standards.
  • You will develop and maintain appropriate approval and review processes for new and existing Coverholders and Delegated authority contracts.
  • You will provide regular reporting, including monitoring of key performance indicators, addressing DUA performance, controls and exception reporting for the DUA team and other stakeholders.
  • You will be responsible for Atlas & DCOM administration.
  • You will liaise with Lloyd’s Policyholder & Third-Party Oversight team as required.
  • You will assist the DUA Manager and Head of Delegated Underwriting Authority as required in the ongoing management of all areas of Axis’s Delegated Underwriting business.
  • You will co-ordinate and undertake wider projects and duties in relation to DUA business.
  • You will use formal reporting mechanisms to promptly notify relevant parties of any perceived new risk or failures of existing control measures.
  • You will always endeavour to consider the effect of any actions taken on AXIS customers with the intention of improving their experience.

About You:

What you need to have:

  • 4+ years’ experience of DUA business from a previous DUA role in Lloyd’s, London Market or Broking firm.
  • Independently manage / balance workloads whilst identifying prioritisations and adapting as necessary
  • Display strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with multiple different stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Display strong written communication skills to allow the job holder to write and respond to emails, memos, and other written correspondence.
  • Display strong customer service ethic ensuring good relationships are maintained both internally and externally.
  • Able to apply own knowledge, work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong working knowledge of Lloyd’s Delegated Authority business requirements and the ability to apply them into day-to-day activities.
  • Knowledge of Lloyd’s Atlas & DCOM systems

  • To be able to travel to the London office for 3 days a week (current requirement which is continually evaluated and may be subject to change)
