About the Team
Workday Inc is seeking a Senior Director to lead P&T Horizontal Programs & Execution! This executive role is responsible for the overall governance, standards, and successful execution of the most complex, cross-functional programs within the Product & Technology (P&T) organization.About the Role
Are you an inspirational, strategic leader adept at building and running a world-class Program Management Office culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvements? We are looking for an executive with strong intellectual curiosity and learning agility who can translate P&T strategy into rigorous execution plans. You will serve as the trusted advisor to the SVP/EVP level management within P&T, providing insights for enterprise-level decision-making and driving the transformation initiatives that improve review rigor and governance. You will set the "tone at the top" by ensuring clarity, accountability, and consistent delivery across all high-priority technical initiatives.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
10 + years of progressive experience in program or portfolio management.
5 years of experience in a leadership role directing and controlling the activities of a major program management function within product or engineering.
Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining workflows, templates, and tools for consistent delivery across business units, while offering training, coaching, and guidelines to build Program Management capability.
Other Qualifications:
Proven ability to align program investments with P&T strategy through structured frameworks and provide portfolio-level insights and dashboards to inform executive decisions.
Expertise in managing project health, risks, and trends across a portfolio of interdependent technical programs, facilitating cross-functional reviews for visibility and action.
Executive presence and communication skills—able to influence at the highest levels of the Product and Technology organization.
Experience implementing lightweight processes that support—not burden—delivery teams and streamlining review processes to ensure decision-oriented content and accountability.
Expertise in risk management, process optimization, and change leadership for large-scale technical and organizational transformations.
Ability to champion innovation, collaboration, and consolidation to improve productivity and organizational effectiveness within P&T.
Sets the "tone at the top" by ensuring leaders in their organization understand and actively practice the Workday People Manager Expectations.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
