Senior Director, Integrated Care & Strategic Initiatives

Reporting to the Vice President, Pharmacy Services & Strategic Initiatives, the Senior Director is responsible for developing and implementing innovative care delivery models that integrate allied health providers in the circle of care starting with weight management,  support in-store enablement of Digital Health solutions for patients and collaborate with government relations teams to shape and support a strategic roadmap that advances pharmacist scope & regulatory enablement. The Senior Director will collaborate closely with other leaders in the organization to identify opportunities to improve access to care, patient experience and health outcomes while reducing the total cost to the health system by increasing care delivery efficiency and enabling all clinicians to practice at the top of their license.

This role is instrumental in transforming how Canadians view, access and experience primary care services. To achieve this, you will assess market opportunities to foster innovation and scale team-based care delivery models across various provinces starting with Weight Management and expanding to other conditions. You will also support pharmacists in enhancing the quality of their clinical interactions through effective use of new digital tools and technologies.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of programs to increase access to quality care and improve health outcomes
  • Design and pilot innovative initiatives to test and learn about effective disease management strategies, using data-driven insights to continuously improve program outcomes.
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of program initiatives and successful integration into existing workflows
  • Develop and maintain robust tracking and reporting mechanisms to monitor program effectiveness, including patient and providers satisfaction, medication adherence, and clinical outcomes
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices for scaling successful initiatives across the network, driving continuous improvement in patient care and health outcomes of Canadians
  • Identify new ways to grow customer base, utilizing market insights, planning consumer campaigns, leveraging our retail stores, websites, PC Health app and other customer-facing channels as they emerge 
  • Keep abreast of healthcare trends and primary care regulatory changes as it relates to these allied health providers, ensuring our team maintains documentation of changes for the benefit of the organization
  • Develop timely updates for Senior Leadership Team on results, status of initiatives, including preparation of presentation decks for a variety of communication cascades
  • Lead large, multi-stakeholder working groups for select initiatives with a project management approach to identify key workstreams and stakeholders, develop work plans, timelines and report on progress

What You'll Need: 

This position requires an advanced level of initiative and judgement, ability to shift readily between dealing with strategic issues and critical details, superior ability to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, including strategic planning, chronic disease management program development, and leading cross-functional projects/teams 
  • University degree, preferably in the areas of Healthcare / Business / Strategy Development 
  • Experience with design & development of team-based care delivery models in the Canadian healthcare system
  • People management experience, with ability to clearly establish team’s goals, empower and delegate 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills, experienced at establishing relationships at all levels 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to develop presentations and deliver them to all levels of the organization in an engaging and meaningful way, adjusting to the audience; superior Microsoft Power Point skills 
  • A creative thinker who is comfortable working with ambiguity.  Superior problem-solving skills, drawing on different perspectives to identify best solutions, and evaluate risks and opportunities 
  • Resiliency, to be flexible, adaptable and agile with above average ability to multi-task and prioritize workload. Thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing focused work with a high sense of urgency, when required
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and collaborating with Legal and Regulatory teams and adhering to established processes
