Senior Director, Global Oncology CBU Strategy & Operations Leader

This position is intended to be a 24-36-month rotational roles that is on-site 4 days per week with 1 day work from home. A fully remote role is not possible. This role cannot be based in Warren NJ.

The Senior Director, Commercial Strategy and Operations- Oncology, will work closely with the Senior Vice President, Global Head Commercial Oncology in advancing Regeneron’s Oncology strategic planning and execution. The scope of the role will include coordination across functions, indications, development areas and regions. The Senior Director will integrate and coordinate a unified Regeneron based view and approach across business planning, global and market brand strategies and strategic projects. The leader will work with the SVP, Global Head and the REGN CBU leaders to assure effective integration of Commercial and Regeneron goals and objectives.  

This role will report to the Senior Vice President, Global Head Commercial Oncology and will execute responsibilities while closely collaborating across Solid Tumor/Hematology leads, US/International and HQ brand leaders, and key internal functions.

In a typical day:

  • This role will drive further alignment of CBU initiatives across the OLT and ensure that the Head, OLT and their respective teams are focused on the most critical items to drive business success while enhancing leadership, team and organizational effectiveness.  With the expanding depth and breadth of the Global Oncology organization, this senior level position will require the incumbent to demonstrate strategic, critical and nimble thinking skills coupled with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills. 
  • Act as a key thought partner and trusted advisor to the CBU Head and OLT to identify, brainstorm, influence and help harness or resolve those factors and dynamics that will favorably impact the execution of the CBU business initiatives and agenda
  • Lead cross brand, cross-functional and cross-region Regeneron Oncology Commercial integration efforts.
  • Execute CBU Leadership meetings and associated activities, such as managing and setting the bi-weekly CBU OLT agendas; ensure effective meeting facilitation and follow-up.
  • Lead REGN global and US strategic projects as assigned by CBU leadership team (ex. VA, org design, speed of trust/culture work)
  • Periodically evaluate and provide brand leadership with key trends, industry/category/performance data to support delivery of brand performance against forecasts and assumptions. Helps guide adaptation as necessary to deliver on key brand objectives.
  • Facilitate development and evolution of key commercial presentations, e.g. Commercial Business Reviews.
  • Consult routinely with HQ LCM and Global Solid/Hematology Tumor leads to assure alignment of long-term strategies with annual plans, tactics, forecasts and budgets
  • Build a thorough understanding of all core business functions of the organization and apply that knowledge to effectively manage strategic initiatives consistent with corporate and CBU objectives.
  • Coordinate and optimize critical business activities as needed, such as quarterly/annual planning processes and QBR’s with senior leadership.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications to ensure internal and external messaging is prioritized and reflective of CBU priorities and culture.  Work across the CBU organization to ensure consistency of messaging.
  • Work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to help manage thought leadership and executive visibility for the CBU Head and OLT.
  • Partner with Human Resources to support talent development and organizational effectiveness by identifying opportunities for increased engagement and productivity.
  • Represent the CBU Head in appropriate meetings to gather information, provide input and facilitate efficient decision making.

To be considered, you must possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters or PhD preferred, ​and 15+ years in biopharmaceuticals
  • Strong strategic and operational mindset
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred 
  • Commercial experience strongly preferred 
  • Corporate function (finance, communications, market access, legal, compliance) literacy/experience preferred
  • US/global/international business exposure/experience encouraged
  • Well-networked across the business with proven interpersonal skills and strong track record of establishing trust, influence, and productive cross-functional relationships across a growing, fast-paced and diverse organization.
  • Responsible working style operating as an extension of the CBU head, empowered to make decisions in collaboration with the OLT 
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working without detailed daily direction/instruction (must be comfortable with ambiguity) with keen ability to identity business opportunities, operational gaps and work cross-functionally and collaboratively to problem-solve and develop solutions. 
  • Highly skilled at developing processes, governance, and monitoring process performance 
  • Strong communication skills and highly professional/collaborative working style that reflects favorably upon CBU Head and OLT leadership 
  • Able to function as the eyes and ears of the CBU head in all situations and work towards what is best for the business and for patients
  • Analytical capabilities to understand business performance and diagnose issues/opportunities
  • Vision for new operations needs and anticipating problems/opportunities in advance as the CBU/portfolio/geographical footprint expands
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.  High standards of excellence and integrity.
  • Strong communications skills, including the ability to summarize complex issues concisely.
  • Comfort with dealing with conflict constructively and exercising managerial courage.
  • Regeneron knowledge and organizational/political savvy
  • Team development, leadership development and/or C-Suite level executive coaching skills
  • Clearly articulated narrative on how the role maps to new experience needs and career trajectory/direction
