Annual base salary from $122,628 to $136,449 (HEW Level 8) plus 17% employer’s superannuation contribution and annual leave loading

The Role
The Student 360 Foundation Program (S360F) is a key component of the University’s digital transformation and has established a digital platform – Salesforce – for student support and administration. The first phase of this project went live on 30th September, 2024. S360F is improving our students’ experiences by providing more streamlined and personalised service delivery. Salesforce integrates data from multiple systems to facilitate faster and easier resolution of service requests.
S360F has established the foundation capability of Salesforce Education Cloud, MuleSoft and AWS Connect, and seeks to decommission legacy technology. Projects within the Student 360 Program are currently in progress, with additional projects planned across 2026.
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Salesforce Developer to join Macquarie University’s Operational Excellence team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in designing, developing and enhancing our Salesforce ecosystem - including Education Cloud, Data Cloud. As well as Omni Studio and Experience Cloud,to improve how our students, staff and partners connect and engage with the University.
You’ll work alongside Salesforce Admins, BAs and Integration Engineers in a dynamic environment that blends project delivery and BAU support. From developing new features for Student360 and Service Connect to supporting our next phase of CRM transformation, your work will directly enhance the digital student journey at MQ.
Design and develop scalable Salesforce solutions aligned to business requirements and best practice
Build and maintain Apex classes, Lightning Web Components, Flows, DataRaptors, and OmniScripts
Support Education Cloud configurations
Collaborate with project and BAU teams across testing phases (unit, SIT, regression, and UAT)
Develop and maintain integrations with FastAPI and Snowflake
Participate in code reviews, deployment planning, and environment management
Ensure high standards of data integrity, performance, and security
Contribute to the development of automated regression packs and CI/CD pipelines
Provide mentoring and technical guidance to other Developers and Salesforce Admins
About You
You’re a proactive and collaborative Salesforce professional who thrives in complex environments. You enjoy problem-solving, mentoring others, and delivering quality, maintainable code. You’ll bring:
5+ years’ experience as a Salesforce Developer (preferably in the Higher Education industry)
Strong proficiency in Apex, LWC, SOQL/SOSL, and API integration
Experience with Education Cloud and OmniStudio (FlexCards, DataRaptors, OmniScripts)
Familiarity with CI/CD, Git branching, and Salesforce DevOps tooling
Strong understanding of Salesforce security, data model and governance
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with business and technical teams
Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I/II, OmniStudio Developer, or Education Cloud Consultant (highly regarded)
