Job Description

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data and analytics Microsoft Azure Databricks Platform and pipelines that acquire, cleanse, transform, and publish data from a wide variety of sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble large complex data sets which meet functional and non-functional business requirements.

  • Partner with data asset managers, architects, and development leads to ensure a technical solution provides data which is fit for use and in line with architecture blueprints.

  • Contribute to and leverage coding standards and best practices to ensure services and components are efficient and reusable.

  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements.

Key Skills:

  • Azure Databricks

  • Azure (Data Factory, Data Lake, Web App, Logic Apps)

  • Python / PySpark / Apache Spark

  • SQL

  • Optional: Mongo DB

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrates breadth of applied IT skills across at least two IT job profiles.

  • Applies Integrated Risk Management, IT Operations, IT Project Management, and Enterprise Architecture skills relevant to the work.

  • Requires at least two relevant roles and experience managing or influencing people or organizations to achieve significant IT outcomes.

  • Defines strategy and leads the delivery and transformation of business outcomes through IT within major sub-OU services, products, or programs.

Preferred Industry Certifications:

  • Azure Data Engineer

  • Databricks Certified Data Engineer

  • Spark Developer Associate

  • Azure Fundamentals

  • Azure Data Fundamentals
