Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Consolidations and Reporting, the Senior Consolidations and Reporting Accountant is responsible for supporting the Company's monthly consolidation and internal reporting process. The role will be responsible for preparing the monthly consolidation of the company’s results, partnering with the Controller’s organization to manage the close process and prepare key deliverables including the statement of cash flow, equity rollforwards and variance analysis. This role also will support the Director of Consolidations and Reporting in building out best in class internal reporting capabilities to support the Company’ accelerated growth.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, required
Minimum of 4+ years of experience in the consolidation or financial reporting department, ideally with a publicly traded company
Prior Big 4 public accounting experience, preferred
Team player and ability to meet deadlines
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX/internal controls
Experience with consolidation and financial reporting systems such as D365 or similar tools is highly valued
Experience in the QSR/restaurant space or an industry with multi-unit locations, a plus
CPA or CPA candidate preferred
Location Requirement:
This role is located in Tempe, Arizona. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days.
Key Result Areas (KRAs):
Prepare the Company’s monthly consolidation ensuring all inter-company transactions are eliminated and properly accounted for under US GAAP
Responsible for the preparation of the consolidated balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows and equity rollforwards
Maintain the Company’s chart of accounts including external reporting and segment mappings
Partner with the Financial Reporting, Accounting, and FP&A teams to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly results delivered to key stakeholders and finance leadership
Work with the External Auditors, Financial Reporting and SOX teams to support the Company’s external audit and maintain a strong SOX control environment
Provide ad hoc analysis, financial statements, special project management, and ongoing accounting support for M&A and other corporate initiatives
Work with the Director of Consolidations and Reporting and other teams to improve the current internal reporting process
Support the transition of the current consolidations and reporting function to the Company’s new Phoenix, Arizona-based headquarters

In-Office Environment: Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions

Office Conditions: Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels
Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches. Must be able to occasionally move or lift office items up to 25 pounds
Hearing Requirements: Hearing must be sufficient or correctable to ensure clear understanding of spoken information, including participating in virtual meetings and phone calls. Use of hearing aids or other assistive devices is acceptable if needed.
Reading and Writing Proficiency: Ability to read and write in English is essential for processing documents, drafting reports, and following up on necessary actions. Proficiency in written communication is required to handle job-related tasks effectively.
Vision Requirements: Vision must be adequate or correctable to perform essential job duties, such as reading documents on a computer screen and using other visual tools. Use of corrective lenses or other measures to meet visual requirements is expected if needed.
Technology Proficiency: Must be proficient in operating a computer and other office productivity tools such as printers, scanners, and collaboration software.
Effective Communication: Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders via email, video conferencing, and other in office communication tools.
