Marathon Petroleum Company is seeking a Security Specialist to join our team of dedicated professionals safeguarding one of the nation’s leading energy enterprises. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage Physical Security: Oversee security operations for corporate offices, including access control, surveillance systems, and emergency response planning.
Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify vulnerabilities, evaluate threats, and implement mitigation strategies to protect people and assets.
Deliver Security Training: Develop and lead awareness programs to educate employees on safety protocols and incident prevention.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with business units, HR, and leadership to align security practices with organizational goals.
Ensure Compliance: Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements and internal security policies.
Support Investigations: Assist with fact-finding and incident reviews, applying investigative best practices.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Travel up to 35%.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in law enforcement, military or security field
A valid driver’s license is required for the role/must pass a motor vehicle record check.
SKILLS:
Strong understanding of the practices associated with the protection of property and individuals.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the risk assessment process.
Displays in-depth knowledge of security incident prevention strategies and management.
Fully competent in major security regulatory compliance programs.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of investigative interviewing and fact-finding processes; conceptually understands Code of Conduct investigation processes.
Strong problem solving and analytical skill
Ability to use tact and diplomacy appropriate to the situation
Ability to maintain effective work relationships with all levels of colleagues
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
