This is a fully onsite role based at our customer’s site in Cambridge, MA.

Within our Analytical Services team, we have a functional service provider solution, which is a unique partnership that allows our customers to leverage the experience of our staff, while allowing you, the employee, to gain direct experience working onsite at a pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical company, all while maintaining full-time benefits.

The non-clinical bioanalytical team within TMU LabSci at our client site, is searching for an insourced worker to join the team, conducting custom bioanalysis for research and development purposes. Assay applications will include pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) assays in a non-regulated setting using mass spectrometry.

This is a 100% lab-based and onsite role.

 Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in setting up bioanalytical workflows by working with lead scientist and group head.
  • Design, develop and qualify PK assays in preclinical setting.
  • Work on simple or complex biologics, and oligonucleotide bioanalysis
  • Develop sample preparation approaches such as protein precipitation, solid phase extraction, Immunoprecipitation, enzymatic digestions etc.
  • Develop LC-MS/MS and LC-HRMS for intact protein analysis, middle-up approach or bottom-up approach.
  • Use these methods to characterize pharmacokinetic profile of constructs, including integrity analysis.
  • Coordinate outsourcing activities at CRO by monitoring method development, qualification and sample analysis by LC-MS and LBA.
  • May work on immunoassay methods using techniques such as MSD.
  •  Report and discuss bioanalytical results with integrative knowledge of how the data contributes to the drug development process.
  •  Actively contribute to scientific discussions.

Qualifications:  

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as  biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences or related health sciences with 2-4 years of previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job OR Masters degree in above lab science degrees with 1+ years of experience.
  • Has at least 2 years of experience working in a bioanalytical lab.

In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in various mass spectrometry platforms, including high resolution mass spectrometry (time of flight and orbitrap) and triple quadrupole mass spectrometry
  • Good understanding of protein analysis on platforms such as Thermo, Waters, Sciex.
  • Experience with different extraction techniques for quantitation of proteins in biological matrices (plasma and tissues).
  • Knowledge of proteomics tools such as handling queries on protein databases and protein sequence analysis.
  • Preferred to have working experience on ligand binding assays.
  • Ability to write scientific documents, including project team documents and study reports.
  • Ability to identify solutions to challenges scientifically and through inter-personal skills.
  • Scientific curiosity, appetite for teamwork and problem-solving skills

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $30.00–$34.00.
