The School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering at The University of Queensland is seeking a dynamic and strategic School Manager to play a key leadership role in shaping the future of one of Australia’s leading engineering schools. 
 

As the senior professional leader within the School, you will provide high-level operational and strategic management across all areas of activity, from finance, human resources and student administration, through to business development, facilities, and compliance. Working in close partnership with the Head of School and the School Executive, you will contribute to strategic planning and drive initiatives that enhance performance, strengthen collaboration, and enable academic and research excellence.

About You 

We are seeking an accomplished and motivated professional with extensive experience leading complex operations within a large organisation, ideally within the higher education sector. You will be an agile and strategic thinker with strong financial acumen, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to deliver results in a dynamic environment.  
 
Your experience will include managing diverse teams, overseeing budgets and resources, and advising senior leaders on operational and strategic matters. You will bring excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders across academic, professional, and external contexts. A postgraduate qualification and relevant leadership experience are essential for success in this role.
