ChampionX has an immediate opening for a Saw Operator located in Houston, TX. ​This position is responsible for setting up and operating band saws to cut stock to print dimensions This is your opportunity to join a growing company offering a competitive base pay and benefits.

What You Will Do:

• Responsible for reading and interpreting work orders and blueprints.

• Cut material with precision and identify product as required by job order.

• Mark and identify material with heat and part numbers

• Remove sharp edges and burrs, wash when needed

• Properly and safely load and unload stock to and from saws using hoist or manually

• Transfer finished parts to appropriate departments.

• Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery

• Material transport using motorized lifting equipment

Position Details:

• Candidate must reside in Houston, TX or surrounding areas
• Work week and shift: 5AM to 1:30PM, Monday through Friday. Daily overtime and weekend work may be required.
• Compensation package offered: $17 - $18 per hour
• New hire training provided

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• At least one-year of saw operations experience and training
• At least one-year of experience operating forklift and other motorized equipment
• Ability to read simple manufacturing drawings
• Ability to demonstrate basic mathematical skills to include fractions and decimals
• Experience operating a jib crane
• Working knowledge of calipers, micrometers and tape measures

Physical Demands:

• Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
• Minimal collating/filing and dialing up to 10%.
• Occasional stretching and sitting between 11% and 33%.
• Frequent squatting, reaching, twisting, fingering, and using a keyboard between 33% and 66%.
• Constant bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting up to 40lbs, pushing, pulling, handling, standing, walking, seeing, hearing, writing and speaking greater than 66%.
• The duties of this position require the employee to work in both office and manufacturing floor environments. 
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to typical manufacturing noises (grinders, forklift operation, compressed air circulation, and electric and pneumatic tool operation). 
• The facility is climate controlled but may occasionally reach above-average temperatures. 
• The employee is required to wear all Personal Protection Equipment when entering the production facility.
