SAMPLES ASSEMBLER

SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining the day to day operations of the Sample Department. Assist in the production of marketing samples. Keep records on all incoming and outgoing shipments. Create and review pick lists for shipments. Ensure that shipments are accurate by comparing product against bill of lading and taking counts, weights and measurements. Recommend most economical method of shipping. Prepare shipments with proper labels. Replenish shipping materials and supplies as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under limited supervision and much decision-making:

  • Ensure that Samples are manufactured, inventoried, and shipped as scheduled.
  • Assist in production of marketing samples and prepare for shipment.
  • Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Successfully review and prepare load pick for shipment.
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Recommend method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures.
  • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons identifying shipping information on cartons.
  • Posts weights and shipping charges for parties responsible for freight and shipping instruction.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintain inventory on shipping material and supplies.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and Human Resources.
  • Assist in the accomplishment of Company goals.
  • Help other employees to accomplish Company goals.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by department supervisor.
