Primary Duties
1.Provides reservoir engineering expertise toward the goal of optimizing storage performance and the fulfillment of legal requirements and other internal and external reports.
2.Develops and recommends methods and work plans for the storage operation assignments related to reservoir management.
3.Identifies and ranks remedial and/or fortification projects within the storages, and works with appropriate Planning, Engineering, and Operations personnel to justify and implement in order to maintain or increase storage deliverability.
4.Schedules inventory verification tests and analyzes acquired data. Prepares inventory reports for Accounting and auditors. Provides initiatives and supports to complete all storage related permitting, filings, and other data requests.
5.Coordinates the activities of Key Suppliers to achieve the goals of the company with regards to storage well monitoring, testing, and remedial work over programs.
6.Supplies forecasts of deliverability to Gas Control, Gas Supply, and Marketing for dispatching, purchasing, and marketing planning.
7.Utilizes reports from Gas Measurement, Gas Accounting and Shared Services to prepare regulatory filings with the Texas Railroad Commission, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, and the Energy Information Administration of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
8.Prepares Annual Storage Operation Reports. Contributes timely and current deliverability data to System Planning and Gas Control for inclusion into the Peak Day Performance Report.
9.Conducts reservoir performance studies, as needed, for appropriate design/ operation of storage, gathering, and transmission and processing facilities, and evaluation of gas storage development projects.
10.Executes capital and O&M well drilling, well workover and plug and abandon projects including hiring contractors, ordering materials, completing permit applications, preparing cost estimates and project schedules and performing design calculations.
11. Conducts seminars and training schools, as needed, for employees of storage operations and other departments.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Experience Level:
Requires a B.S. Petroleum Engineering OR B.S. Degree in Geology or other Engineering disciplines (with preferred E.I.T. Certification) and intentions to obtain or have obtained a P. E. License, and two years experience in oil and gas field operation and some background in geology, reserve calculations, reservoir surveillance and production analysis, well testing, logging, drilling, completions, and workovers.
Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical concepts to individuals.
Requires knowledge of and ability to review, select, prepare, interpret and present the utilized geological and engineering data and developed results during the assigned study.
Numeric Skills:
Requires the ability to utilize moderately complex engineering, statistical and/or accounting methods.
Computer Skills:
Requires advanced knowledge of various software applications to create complex documents, reports and graphics.
Work Conditions:
Works in an office environment, occasionally outdoors. Travel requirements include occasional air and auto trips to areas within Texas and nearby states.
May be required to temporarily work extra hours during the evenings and weekends, as dictated by the existing deadlines and priorities of work assignments.
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
As a Safety-Sensitive position, pre and post-employment screenings, including but not limited to drug testing as outlined by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks are required.
