Position Summary:

Conduct independent and collaborative research related to infectious disease epidemiology, serosurveillance, and health systems strengthening.

Design, implement, and analyze quantitative and/or qualitative studies, ensuring scientific rigor and data integrity.

Manage and analyze datasets from multiple sources, including laboratory, clinical, behavioral, and community-based surveys.

Contribute to and/or lead the preparation of research manuscripts, technical reports, grant proposals, and presentations for diverse audiences.

Support coordination with internal and external partners, including academic collaborators, public health agencies, and international research teams.

Supervise or mentor research assistants, trainees, and students as appropriate. Participate in regular lab meetings and contribute to broader research initiatives under the Pandemic and Emergency Readiness Lab (PERL).

Qualifications:

PhD & 5 years of experience in research (the time spent doing their PhD counts towards the 5 years of required research)

Education:  PhD in Virology, Microbiology, Public Health, Epidemiology, Global Health or a related discipline; 

Experience:  Minimum of 10 years of research experience (including time spent completing the PhD). Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated experience in data analysis, statistical programming or infectious disease research.
