Here’s a Glimpse of the Job

The Research Assistant provides skilled technical and administrative support across all phases of research projects, including assisting with experimental design, equipment operation, and coordination with lab and field personnel. This role will also contribute to the preparation of funding proposals, maintain research documentation, and collaborate closely with other research staff.

Opportunities to Contribute

  • Supports the design, planning, and coordination of experiments by applying standard research techniques and maintaining detailed records of data.

  • Conducts experiments using laboratory equipment and software, analyzes data, and summarizes results for technical evaluation.

  • Assists with ordering, inventory, and organization of lab supplies, and supports the installation and operation of research equipment.

  • Maintains and uses lab mice in experiments.

  • Assists in preparing lab SOPs, funding proposals, and financial records, and supports reporting, invoicing, and cataloging of research documentation.

  • Assists undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to lift and/or move medium-weight objects.

A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:

  • Previous laboratory experience.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.

  • Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.

  • Attention to detail.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
