Role Purpose
This is an important role within the UK Research Team, working in the Industrial & Logistics sector. The I&L market continues to expand and evolve and there are a number of new trends coming forward which are implicating demand for floorspace. This is an exciting time to be involved in the I&L market and you will want to learn about the key drivers of change including wider economic factors.
This role will suit a person who, ideally, already has some working experience in property research – or another comparable area – and wants to take the next step up. The principal purpose of this role is to support in maintaining JLL’s market leading data on the UK I&L sector and to analyse market trends so that it supports our wide-ranging I&L related businesses (Agency, Capital Markets and Professional teams) and our clients. JLL is a UK leading advisor across this sector and the quality of our research is a key differentiator for us.
This role will report to the Head of UK Industrial and Logistics Research. The role will be based in London.
What this job involves
Maintaining our in-house datasets on the UK I&L market with a primary focus on large logistics buildings (warehouses and distribution centres)
Working closely with our UK I&L related businesses and data team to help maintain our data and to understand the market
Uploading key UK I&L data to our European database on a quarterly basis
Writing our regular market report on the logistics sector and producing customised reports (or contributions to reports) for our I&L related business teams and clients
Preparing market presentations in Microsoft Powerpoint, or other formats
Undertaking certain regular (quarterly) client projects involving customised market data
Working collaboratively with other Research team members, including the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team, the EMEA I&L research team, or teams from other sectors
Some existing professional experience in property research or comparable experience
A keen interest in the I&L market or a willingness and desire to learn about this market so that you can research it effectively and become an authoritative researcher in this sector
An ability to work effectively on your own with guidance and to work well with other people – the quality of your research will depend on how well you can interact with our existing market experts and others
Excellent attention to detail – the quality of our data supports our market leading position in this sector
Good skills with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word and a willingness to learn other software programmes if necessary – for example basic GIS
Good time management skills – to juggle the range of tasks involved and to meet deadlines
A ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to think laterally about how we can deliver research solutions
