We’re looking for a Renewables Technical Lead for our business across multiple sectors. The role will be based in Asia. This is a high-impact opportunity where you'll be the crucial technical bridge that connects customer needs with cutting-edge power solutions across the AMEAPAC region. You'll work closely with Sales and Project Engineering to design innovative, practical, and financially viable energy systems, specializing in renewables (Solar, BESS, Wind), hybrid generation, and microgrids.
Your success will directly drive business growth—you'll be instrumental in improving the quality of the sales pipeline, increasing conversion rates, and boosting profit (EBITDA) on contracted projects. This role demands a highly experienced, globally-minded Power Engineer who brings deep technical expertise in renewables, excellent commercial judgment, and the confidence to manage complex, high-value customer interactions. You must also be committed to Operational Excellence and strict HSE compliance throughout all your work.

What you’ll do:
- Collaborating with Sales Teams to understand customer needs and develop engineered solutions (for renewable, hybrid, and microgrid projects) that are practical, meet requirements, and align with financial targets
- Working with the Modeling, Pricing, and Project Engineering teams to develop detailed technical proposals
- Leading concept development and ensuring the accuracy of outline engineering for complex sales enquiries
- Translating technical requirements from RFQ/Tender documents into implementable solutions
- Supporting material specifications and costing inputs for bespoke purchases
- Managing outline engineering and cost deliverables for large RFQs/Tenders (specifically those over $10M USD)
- Attending customer meetings and delivering presentations on technology and application overviews
- Providing technical sales training on new and existing renewable and hybrid technologies
- Offering engineering advice to Commercial teams on the technical components of bids
You’ll have the following skills and experience:
- The role demands a strong background in power engineering, particularly within the renewables sector
- An Engineering degree is required, with Chartered status being highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in power engineering and/or renewables.
- Must be fully conversant and have practical experience with key technologies, including: Renewable Power (Solar PV, Wind), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Hybrid generation and Microgrids, Power generation equipment and associated support infrastructure
- This position requires a high degree of professionalism, resilience, and customer-facing ability
- Proven experience in direct customer interactions for high-value contracts
- Must be a team player, action-focused, reliable, resilient, and self-reliant, demonstrating a positive change orientation
- Ability to view situations objectively and impartially
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and other regions. Must be culturally sensitive with an understanding of international business protocols; cross-cultural work experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and self-motivation
- Numerate and data-driven with strong analytical skills
- Strong coaching, development, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple project work streams simultaneously
- Fluency in English is required, with additional languages highly regarded
