Our Corporate Business Applications team is currently looking for a Release Manager and migrator for the Workday Platform. The Release Manager is responsible for the entire release management lifecycle, ensuring a smooth efficient process for deploying configuration and development releases into the Workday production environment. This role coordinates with multiple teams to manage application updates, security improvements, and more. The Release Manager determines what is slotted in each release and helps resolve conflict with any potential competing priorities. This role will also serve as a central migrator resource to move configuration and development to the Workday production environment in alignment with the SDLC process.

About the Role

Workday Tenant Management:

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Workday tenant management, including configuration, security, and data management.

  • Communicate effectively with all team members to keep them informed about changes, updates, and standard processes.

  • Maintain data integrity within the Workday system, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
     

Release execution and readiness: 

  • Develop and maintain documentation of the build/release process. 

  • Define release readiness criteria and ensure all changes meet criteria prior to deployment.

  • Run the release management process, including leading weekly release meetings. 

  • Lead a variety of release related activities, including: updating release schedules and plans, release communications to team members, resource assignment, etc. 

  • Set and manage consistent deployment schedules, accounting for any dependencies and risks along the way while identifying issues to ensure they are not repeated.

  • Serve as member of central migrator team to migrate configuration / development as part of the Release process

  • Develop and facilitate the process for M&A, onboarding new acquisitions to the Workday Platform 

Quality Management: Work with WOW team to certify quality gates are documented and met for each release


Issues management: Identify and track release issues, resolving issues where possible or escalating when needed. Assess and manage risks and drive mitigation activities.


Business and process improvement: Find opportunities for business or process improvement in the change control process; make associated recommendations as appropriate. Define KPIs to track release metrics and drive improvements.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 years of demonstrated ability in data conversion, configuration migration, or release management using industry standard release management tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow, and techniques.

  • 4 years of experience with data conversion (mapping, transforming, and loading data) using Workday technologies such as iLoad, EIB, Advanced Load, Object transporter 

Other Qualifications:

  • Advanced skills with ETL, SQL/MySQL, XML, Microsoft Excel, stored procedures or other data tooling

  • Experience with technical consulting, requirements gathering, or solution design

  • Experience with Workday data migration, integration development, report building, or software development

  • Advanced understanding of the complete software implementation lifecycle - including data requirements gathering, dataset migration, data reconciliation, and move to production

  • Solid understanding of Agile, Safe-Agile, Scrum, Kanban methodologies

  • Ability to facilitate release planning meetings to articulate release components and deliverables with high level audiences.


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $132,700 USD - $199,100 USD


 

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $126,100 USD - $224,000 USD
