This role is hybrid (2 - 3 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON.

Working schedule: Rotational on-call support outside of regular business hours

The Release Management Coordinator is responsible for supporting activities for the building, deployment and maintenance of application software releases through a hierarchy of non-production and production environments; work with other GTS teams ensuring software products deployed to multi-platform production environments meet quality standards and performance objectives. The Release Management Coordinator is responsible for supporting activities for the building, deployment and maintaining of application software releases

This role reports to Senior Manager, Clearing Technology Services.


Key Accountabilities 

  • Support the release management processes to ensure the deployment of major, minor, emergency and off-cycle releases meet quality standards and performance objectives.

  • Support control processes that protect the integrity of secured source control repositories in multi-platform environments.

  • Adhere to automated code control processes that provide version management and source code standardization in multi-platform environments.

  • Adhere to TMX standard Incident, Problem and change manage processes

  • Support automated code deployment processes across a complex, multi-platform hierarchy of non-production and production environments. After hours and weekends required.

  • Promote the Release Management methodology across IT

  • Identify and recommend solutions to processes that execute outside of Release Management practices.

  • Identify and promote opportunities to standardize non-production and production environments.

  • With other Infrastructure teams, proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

  • Help maintain and enforce systems standards

  • Maintain procedural and technical documentation


Must haves

  • University degree in Computer Science, or related discipline.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge of third-party software products Ansible Tower, Jira, Confluence, Slack, GitLab, Service Now, and Control-M scheduler used to provide and support automated code management.  As well as enterprise-wide platforms Cloud Computing, Linux, and UNIX

  • Thorough knowledge of software development and release management processes 

  • Experience in supporting and administering third party software products

Nice to haves

  • Previous experience in the Clearing Depository or Financial industry an asset

  • Experience with different platforms AWS Cloud and  Distributed systems environments would be an asset.

  • Understanding of Job scheduler & orchestration, and alerting tools would be an asset.
