The Regulatory Engineer provides technical support as part of the PXC Regulatory Systems team.  The Regulatory Engineer works for the Regulatory Architect to ensure that necessary systems are always available and usable so that PXC can meet critical legal obligations.

The Regulatory Engineer has in-depth knowledge of a set of dedicated systems and their associated technologies.  Due to security clearance requirements, the role requires a broad range of technical skills to implement and support systems throughout their entire lifecycle.  This includes hardware installation, Linux and Windows server administration & patching, network security, general troubleshooting, incident management, and end-user support.

The role is office-based and the Regulatory Engineer should expect to spend at least 3 days per week in the office or a local data centre.

How will I add value in this role?

The Regulatory Engineer keeps crucial systems running smoothly so that PXC can meet legal obligations. The Regulatory Engineer will perform varied activities under guidance from the Regulatory Architect, which may include:

1. Providing technical support to the PXC Regulatory Security Disclosure Team so that they can work efficiently using the tools available to them.

2. Working under instruction from the Regulatory Architect to install, configure, and maintain relevant infrastructure and applications.  This includes occasional travel to PXC sites and supplier locations around the UK.

3. Performing routine health and security checks on relevant Regulatory systems, resolving issues where possible and working with other internal and external teams to resolve issues where necessary.

4. Proactively identifying platform issues and driving fault resolution within agreed SLAs.

5. Providing regular reports of issues, risks, and recommendations to the Regulatory Architect.

6. Working with the regulatory architect to help create and maintain documentation that describes the implementation and operation of relevant Regulatory Systems at PXC.

7. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

8. Building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with suppliers and customers of relevant Regulatory systems.

9. Defining and performing tests on new and updated regulatory applications and documenting how changes may impact on the Regulatory Security team.

10. Representing the Regulatory Security team in technical change forums and provide feedback.

Skills & Experience

Essential Attributes:
•    Ability to gain and maintain UK SC security clearance
•    Linux administration skills
•    Technical problem-solving skills

Desirable Attributes:
•    Infrastructure Support Experience, including physical installation and maintenance
•    Experience of maintaining Windows, VMWare, Firewalls, Nagios, and Ansible
•    Security Operations Experience, including use of vulnerability scanning tools.

•    One or more of CompTIA Security+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator, CISSP
