Overview:

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Part Time Registered Nurse for the LDRP. This is a night shift position with required call. Preferred applicants will have experience specifically in Labor and Delivery and will cross train into postpartum.

Hours: Two 12-hour shifts per week with every 3rd weekend rotation on Saturday and Sunday. The required call is 16-24 hours per 6-week schedule.

Sign on bonus up to $10,000 available for qualified candidates.

LDRP:

Sentara Martha Jeffersons Women’s Health includes L&D, and a 24 bed post-partum mother/baby. Our Level 2 newborn specialty care nursery has a 1 to 1 ratio while our intermediate care babies have a 1 to 3 nursing ratio. Our LDRP unit also offers post operative care for complex GYN and Breast surgical needs. This specialty area has a 100-member team cross trained to offer best in class healthcare to Charlottesville, VA, and surrounding areas. The schedule is primarily 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holiday requirements. Awarded as US News Top Maternity Care Hospitals, the LDRP at Sentara Martha Jefferson offers state of the art care while maintaining a personalized experience for all patients.

  • 11 Private Birthing Rooms w/Jacuzzi tubs, 2 Triage Rooms, 1 dedicated Obstetrical OR, and 2 bed OB PACU

  • Newborn Nursery and 7 bed Level II Special Care Nursery

  • 24 private Mother/Baby and Women’s Services rooms

  • Lactation Services available 7 days/week

  • The platform currently has approximately 100 employees across various clinical and support roles. 

  • Our RN retention rate is 98%

  • We boast an NTSV CS rate of 18%, the lowest in the Sentara system

Education

  • Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing

  • BSN or MSN Preferred

Certification/Licensure

  • Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire.

  • BLS within 90 days of hire

  • Registered nursing license required

  • EFM- Electronic Fetal monitoring preferred

  • Certified Obstetrics Nursing preferred

Experience

  • 2 years of acute care registered nurse experience in Women's health- Required.

  • Labor and Delivery specific Experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of patient safety protocols.

  • Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments

  • Communication with patients and providers

  • Must want to work night shift
